Intense and full bodied coffee, similar to a traditional espresso profile but smoother and with less bitterness, designed to be brewed as espresso.

Fernwood blend was born of a desire to be able to enjoy a full bodied, traditional style espresso without the harsh bitter and over roast notes found in so many of them, and boy are we happy with the results!

This blend is unusual compared to our other coffees in that it contains some speciality, or fine robusta. When we cupped samples of these robustas we were blown away with their flavours and quality, something not usually associated with Robusta, and we knew we just had to use some.

The Brazil adds smooth caramel, nut and milk chocolate flavour, the Honduras adds some body, dark chocolate and Demerara notes and the Robusta punches through with tobacco, spice, dates and heaps of body!

Around about the time we started working on this blend Phil sadly lost his dad, himself a keen coffee drinker, so he decided that he would create this blend in his honour. The resulting coffee coincidentally encapsulates his personality to a tee - Full bodied, bold and resilient with a soft sweetness and just a cheeky little spice!

His last business, run from the same garden office that Anonymous now calls its home was called Fernwood Electronics so it seemed fitting that the name Fernwood should live on as well….and so the Fernwood Blend was born.
